Installing the latest budgie-desktop is now possible via a PPA. No more compiling code!
With a lots of googling I’ve managed to create a PPA that works for both 15.10 and 16.04 users.
Its 64bit only – but come on – are you really using such old equipment that cannot run 64bit stuff?! EDIT: 18Feb’16 – both 32bit and 64bit packages are now available!
Its as easy as:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fossfreedom/budgie-desktop sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install budgie-desktop
Then logout and login to budgie.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got those PPA’s and packages installed – since the packages are the same name there will be no clashes.
Use Raven and change to Arc-Dark and the Moka iconset.
